Ability Counts

At Inspire Suffolk we are committed to offering opportunities for everyone living in Suffolk regardless of their age, gender, social background or ability to play and enjoy sport. A great example of this is our Ability Counts programme.

Our Ability Counts courses offer children, young people and adults with physical and/or learning disabilities or mental health issues the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports.

The coaching sessions provide opportunities for players at grassroots level to develop through to impairment specific regional player development centres and potentially national squad level so there really is something for everyone.

At Inspire Suffolk, we make sure every course is tailored to the needs of those who take part, helping to improve an individual’s agility, balance and co-ordination as well as acting as a great tool to develop social skills, self-esteem and confidence.

Adult Pan-Disability Football (16+) – Tuesdays 7:00pm-8:30pm: £35 – For 10 Sessions

Our adult pan-disability football teams train weekly at Inspire Suffolk in Ipswich and compete in a county wide fixture programme through Suffolk FA’s 5-aside Ability Counts Adult League.

Ability Counts (5-18 years) – Holiday Sport Camps: One Day Course, flexible drop off & pick up: £12 a day

Join our Ability Counts holiday clubs, where our trained and experienced team of staff deliver active, fun and inclusive sports sessions for all including children and young people with physical and/or learning disabilities, split by age and ability (usually 5-11 years and 12-18 years). Our Ability Counts sessions will be running at 4 locations this Summer; Inspire Suffolk in Ipswich, Castle Hill Juniors in Ipswich, Woods Loke Primary in Lowestoft and County Upper School in Bury St Edmunds, on various dates with a flexible drop off and collection time available (9am-3.30pm).

These clubs are inclusive to anyone who wants to enjoy playing a range of sports – they focus on the skills and abilities of those taking part mirroring mainstream sport sessions. It’s the ability that counts!

To find out more about the this and how to get involved, contact Conner Leeks on [email protected] or 01473 353194.
