Sports Development Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Suffolk’s most energetic charities. The Charity aspires to see generations of young people empowered to raise their ambitions and realise their potential through the work that they do.

We are looking for someone to join our sports team and the successful person will help to plan, deliver and develop inclusive and challenging sports development initiatives; promote all inspire sports development projects, events and develop proactive relationships with external colleagues.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. To plan, deliver and develop high quality PE lessons across Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex primary schools.
  2. To work alongside primary school staff to complete pupil assessments on a termly basis.
  3. To be involved in the recruitment and training of staff, coaches and volunteers.
  4. To deliver high quality, challenging and fun weekly sport sessions across the county within an education setting.
  5. Deliver inclusive, engaging and fun holiday camps to young people during the school holidays throughout the year.
  6. Support existing observation team in carrying out observations of teaching, learning and assessment
  7. Lead the development of schemes of learning and session plans, for in-school sport & PE delivery
  8. Lead the planning and preparation of holiday activity programmes, including activity planning and staffing
  9. Work with Quality Team to plan suitable training to meet identified staff development needs
  10. Plan & deliver inclusive, engaging and fun holiday camps to young people during the school holidays throughout the year.
  11. Work alongside the Quality Team and attend regular standardisation meetings to ensure high standards of work remain consistent.
  12. Regularly assess and review learners’ progress and implement appropriate actions and/or additional support when appropriate.
  13. Maintain safe working practices, ensuring risk assessments are completed in advance and that any safeguarding issues are communicated with the Safeguarding team within 24 hours.
  14. Increase partnerships with schools, sponsors and governing bodies to support the ongoing growth of Inspire.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, attributes, and experience:

  • FA Level 2 Qualification (minimum)
  • Previous experience of working with/coaching children in a primary school setting
  • Enhanced DBS with Barring
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
