Personal Development Tutor

Inspire Suffolk have an exciting opportunity for you to join one of Suffolk’s most energetic charities who are looking to expand their provision across Suffolk and Essex.   Inspire Suffolk transforms the lives of the young people they work with through a range of education programmes.  The vacancy for a Personal Development Tutor is to support the Team Programme which is one of their most successful programmes which they run in partnership with the Prince’s Trust.

The Team programme takes place over 12 weeks and supports young people between the ages of 16 – 25 years old who are not in employment, education or training across Suffolk and North Essex.

Responsibilities of the role

The main purpose of the role is to recruit, select and lead a team of individuals through the Team programme.  The Personal Development Tutor facilitates and encourages team achievements, while guiding each team member on an individual learning journey.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering the Team 12-week personal development programme in line with the Team Programme Toolkit requirements and any funders’ specifications, taking responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of the team during all parts of the programme, and setting programme objectives to meet both team and individual needs to deliver the expected learning outcomes.

Essential Requirements for this role include:

  • Experience of working with groups of young people from varied backgrounds.
  • Experience of understanding the range of issues facing young people in today’s society.
  • The ability to maintain good working relationships with a wide range of people, including internal colleagues and external organisations.
  • Previous experience of assessing coursework against qualification criteria.
  • Enhanced DBS.
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding and PREVENT qualifications.

 

Salary:            £20,250 to £24,000

Start Date:      January 2021

Location:        Essex or Coastal

Hours:            Full-time (37.5 hours per week)                   

Contract:        Fixed-term until 31 December 2021
