Dancers dazzle and raise almost £13,000 at Strictly Charity fundraiser sponsored by MSC
This weekend we hosted our Strictly Charity fundraiser with Ipswich School of Dancing for the fifth year running at Trinity Park in Ipswich. We are over the moon that the event raised almost £13,000 and cannot thank everyone enough.
In the style of popular BBC show Strictly Come Dancing, 5 male and 5 female volunteers who had little or no dancing experience have been fundraising and training for the past ten weeks with the support of their semi-professional partners and teachers from Ipswich School of Dancing. Each couple was required to learn two dances, one Ballroom and one Latin, to be performed at the Strictly Charity finale in front of friends, family and Inspire supporters who created an amazing atmosphere and another unforgettable evening!
As well as impressing their supporters, the dancers also had to impress a panel of judges. This year we were lucky to have two international dancers Sasha Ward & Amy Hankin, Brendan Keaney from Dance East, Caryl Hudson and Sarah Wagstaff-Till from Ipswich School of Dancing who handed out their scores in the style of Strictly Come Dancing! Thank you all for your amazing support!
This year we were very grateful to have MSC as our main sponsor who have their headquarters in Ipswich and pride themselves on supporting local. We rely solely on our supporters, fundraising and grants so the fundraising our dancers took part in was vital, as well as the beyond generous support we received from local companies and individuals.
As well as having MSC as our main sponsor each of the volunteer dancers were required to fundraise whilst training ahead of the big Strictly Charity finale. You can still support them here.
