10 weeks of Strictly Charity training begins for our dancers

This week, our ten volunteer dancers put on their dancing shoes for the first time as they started their training for this year’s Strictly Charity fundraising event with Ipswich School of Dancing. Our dancers had a go at getting to grips with some basic Ballroom and Latin steps with the dance school before meeting their semi-professional dance partners who they will be dancing with for the next ten weeks.

Once again, we are teaming up with Ipswich School of Dancing for our popular dancing fundraiser Strictly Charity, which is returning with a grand finale in the style of Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday 20th July at Trinity Park. The event aims to raise money to support local young people to overcome numerous challenges through our life-changing education programmes, with ten amateur dancers throwing themselves in the deep end learning to dance with ten semi-professional dancers from the dance school in the lead up to the finale.

Our couples also found out what dances they’d be doing with each couple performing one Ballroom and one Latin dance at the finale. We can’t wait to for our Strictly Charity Grand Finale on 20th July at Trinity Park to see how our Strictly Charity couples have progressed!

The main reason for our volunteer dancers taking on the challenge of learning to dance is to raise lots to support the work we do with young people. You can support them by visiting their JustGiving fundraising pages here. Please do support them if you can spare any money, it really does make a difference!

Strictly Charity tickets will be released very soon. Keep an eye on our website and social media for more ticket and dancer updates! Keeeeep dancing!
